Colin
was born in Mission City, B.C., in 1928 and attended elementary and
secondary school there. He completed his secondary education in
Vancouver and attended business college in Vancouver. He worked
for the Powell River Pulp and Paper Company. Colin moved with the
company to the Logging Division on the Queen Charlotte Islands.
He then worked for Canadian Pacific Airlines as a passenger agent in
Edmonton and throughout BC and the Yukon for several years. Colin
was promoted and transfered to Honolulu for several years. He
returned to Vancouver for a year and married his love, Diane.
Colin resigned from CP Air and bought the Haney Music and Art
Store. Diane and he worked this business up to a unique and
comprehensive business selling musical instruments, records, tapes, art
supplies, greeting cards, Canadiana books, leather goods, stationary,
and office supplies. After 14 years of hard work they sold the
business and moved to the Okanagan- first Kaleden and then Penticton.
Colin always admired art but never thought that he would ever challenge
painting pictures. Colin thanks Bernie Cattani and living in
Sandbridge and working with his fine group of artists at the Sandbridge
Painting Group for getting him to meet this challenge.
