Canadian Artist Patricia Neil Lawton
Patricia Neil Lawton, born
in Powell River, has had a rich career in the arts in British
Columbia. She worked as an illustrator in the advertising field
in Vancouver for many years, taught commercial illustration for
the Vancouver School of Art and at Okanagan University/College and had
the position of art teacher in the Secondary School at
Waglisla, B.C. (Bella Bella). Patricia paints “full time” and travels
throughout B.C. exhibiting her works and instructing workshops in
various communities, as well as instructing at the Shuswap Summer
School of the Arts.
Lawton and her husband lived in Mexico for a year but returned to the
Okanagan six years ago with their dog Maggie where Lawton continues to
paint and teach.
Patricia has had over forty solo Art
shows and been in many shows with other artists in Mexico, the USA and
here in British Columbia. Her works hang in
many corporate and private collections around the world and maybe found
at the Hambleton Galleries in Kelowna and the Lloyd Gallery in
Penticton. She sells greeting cards of her works in the Public Art
Gallery in Vernon and various gift shops.
